You might want to check the laws, but I thought collecting
in TN was illegal.

Im not collecting? Im just doing a little herping, a simple find, look at, take some pics and watch it slither away, I wont be taking more than 5 feet away from the point were I caught the copperhead!

Cool, Im going to North Carolina next week to where I grew up. We had copperheads everywhere and I cant wait to go out and look again.

I dont think people who live around venomous snakes realize how exciting it can be for those of us who dont live near them to be able to go out and look for them.

I'm going hiking this weekend. I'm armed with my water bottle, my hook, my tongs, my fishing license (in case the Mister Ranger Sir hassles me), and of course, my CAMERA. I don't have anywhere to put a new addition, and I'd rather get CB anyway, so the only thing I'll be taking is pictures.

I have a fishing license because California law permits limited collecting IF you have one, and when I've been out photoherping before, the Mr. Ranger Sirs wouldn't believe me when I told them I was just taking pictures. Now, with the trusty fishing license that I don't need, they leave me alone. (Of course, you need NO license to capture either Crots or Bullfrogs.... go figure.)

Hey, have a good time, I live in Kentucky, and about one hour from the red river gorge. I have found 4 copperheads under one sheet of tin last time I was down there, also found two huge garter snakes, two earth snakes, a baby box turtle, and a big one, and two baby snakes im still unsure what they were. But if you can put tin out, go ahead and put some out, check it early on cool mournings, and over cast days, they love it. But besure to check out the laws before you go toseing out tin. But I will post some of the pics I got, I need to shrink them, its about 3 megs right now.
Take care,
Philip
