I know what you mean....all ours does is use it for a toilet. Then, I have to be worried that he might also be drinking from it too.
should i just take it out then? or do you have any suggestions? he's in a 40 gal breeder tank, but he runs around like crazy, so if i can give him a little more room, i'd like to.
We don't use water bowls for any of our dragons. Keeping them clean are a pain and the increase in humidity they cause with cages that are enclosed can become a problem, especially with the high heat.
We mist our dragons with room temp water from a spray bottle or one of those spray things I forget what they are called but they work well. We give adult dragons a light misting about twice a week and our juvies get it daily and our hatchlings get it 3 or 4 times a day.
It works well. You have to be careful to just mist them gently on their heads or the sides of the tank they will drink from it once they realize what it is. Be careful not to spray a soiled area of the cage, you don't want them drinking water that can get contaminated. You also don't want to soak them with water inside the cage, just do it lightly and they will drink it as it runs off their head.

thanks!
Hi
I let my dragons drink once a day with an eyedropper, they know that when I wet their nose they'll get a drink and they start to lick. I let them drink untill they stop licking and it just works perfectly.
