Ok I got home early today so I figuered I'd clean out Sobek's tank. When I got him out of his humid hide I noticed his skin looked really dull, like he'd been rolling in dirt or something. For the last few days hes only left his humid hide when food is present. I feed him live crickets and he stil hunts them with lots of energy. His droppings are normal from what I've read. I just noticed his dull colors today and he is usually a very vibrant black and yellow. Is he getting ready to shed or should i be concerned that its something more? Also every time I put him in his little Temp. Cage, he trys to climb the sides and sometimes rubs his nose along the side. i know rubbing is harmfull on screen but I wasn't sure about plastic? Thankfully hes not in there very long, he hates it.

yeah i agree that he's probably getting ready to shed... and usually leos will try to stand and lean against the walls of their "new" enclosures because they want to explore more... it's like when you have them in your hand..they'll look around, raise their head... take a lick and keep on movin so i think your youngin' should be just fine
