Does this EVER happen?

ETChipotle Oct 23, 2003 07:53 PM

I was curious as to why my cat didn't greet me at the door like she always does. Then after awhile I still didn't see her so I called her. She didn't come, she usually does.

I found her curled up inside my collared lizards cage. I could see a couple of the lizards out and about.

This was very disturbing to me.

I pulled out the cat, obviously, and pulled out the basking rock, only to find the remaining missing lizards tucked in for the night.

So my cat got into the lizard cage that she's always been so curious about and didn't hurt ANY of them?

Is this normal? Should I buy a lottery ticket too?

It just don't add up! Was she really after the crickets?

I feel like I just dodged a bullet after it was fired directly at me.

This injury didn't show up at first because it's in the fatty shoulder area. It looks discolored in the picture, but the other side is similarly colored. There doesn't appear to be any swelling.

I was going to put some neosporin on it but I appear to be all out, my girlfriend threw it away because it was expired.

Guess I'll have to run and get some, to try and prevent basic infection.

My cats are not allowed in the reptile room. I saw years ago the way they watched. They move quick, just like cats like, and they are small, your kitty will get them and hurt them if given the chance, especially now that she has gone to the extent of getting into their tank. Be careful if it happened once it will again. Check all your babies. Eve

And apparently she was checking to see if I had done my job.

I did however spend some time today making improvements to the top so that she can't destroy the lid.

And Yes, she has been more preoccupied with the cage today than normal.

get into your cage? is it a screened top type cage or is it just open at the top with no cover? lock that thing up with a metal pin.....or does your cat have opposable thumbs and can open its own can of catfood. hmmmm

That was a close call. Today my pitbull ran away from a loose lizard.
