All three of my Kayuadi females have had a good summer of feeding on one or two large rats a week. I supplemented them with some fish oil, multivitamin fragments and trader joes very green for what is is worth... I recommend these to my patients so why not for my snakes!

One female who didnt breed last year went off feed about a month ago, and then the other CB female went off feed about two weeks ago and finally my WC female who produced last year went off feed two weeks ago. Their middle thirds are now distended, and they are starting to migrate to the warmer end of the cage at times but not consistently as they do after ovulation and when inverting body postitions.

They are much thicker this year compared to last as they develop follicles so hopefully this will protend a good clutch result should they continue the process. Seems the males are getting less interested so mating, which I did not observe this year yet, has likely already taken place but i will certainly keep cycling the males in every few days as the females dont seem to mind.. ie they are not getting rammy and doing the cloacal gaping that sometimes occurs when they really dont want to have anything to do with the guys.

Room has been cycling down to mid 70s at night and this as well as natural light cycles may be helping stimulate follicular development as with most python species. I am trying to keep a ready supply of clean water in the two 8 oz deli cups in each 4ft neodesha cage in which the girls are housed. Will keep you updated as to what happens along the way.
