How old is your oldest Dragon?

SalS Oct 23, 2003 10:59 PM

I'm just trying to get a better grasp on this lifespan thing. I've read 7-15 years. I'm just wondering if anyone else has any dragons that fall into this range? What is the oldest dragon you directly know about (not I heard about or I read that...)? I have a male that is almost 7 years old.

My oldest is a female she's 3 but a friend had one that recently died which was 8...she was a breeder though so it may have lived longer if not bred.

I think the confirmed record is 11 years and some months. There have been many unconfirmed reports of over 12 years. I think that's due to better dietary information, especially on getting the ratio of veggies up for the adults to avoid fatty liver disease and other problems.

My oldest dragons just turned 3 and aren't looking middle aged at all, so I'm shooting for at LEAST 12. :-D

I met a guy at a show that had a bd that was 13! Can you imagine how hard it must have been to raise a bd correctly 13 years ago? There must have been a HUGE lack of info!
