Fluval 204...does this one come with everything that is needed?

trinacliff Oct 23, 2003 11:05 PM

I'm wondering if this comes with everything I need to get it going? Tubes, etc.? I have no idea, and it doesn't say "comes complete ready to set up" blah blah...

Hope so...I just ordered it. If not, please let me know ASAP...LOL...thanks! I'm so clueless to this stuff right now.

Mine came with everything, even the filteration media. Getting set up is a bit of an adventure, but once you get it going it works great.

Yes, it should have everything to get you started. After you use up what they give you to get started (most people change the carbon and fine particle fiber, etc. once a month or so) definitely feel free to buy the cheaper bulk refills. (At Petsmart in particular they come in plastic jars...can't remember the brand.) Just get some media bags (meshy pouches that you can put the stuff in before you set it in the baskets in the canister). You'll save a ton of money over buying the actual Fluval brand refills. If you need help when you get it, drop a line...there are lots of Fluval canister people here. Figure out what order you want to put the media in can be annoying.
