Lepidobatrachus laevis, (Budgetts Frog)

KristenM Oct 24, 2003 07:17 AM

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows any of the answers to the following questions, what the call of a budgetts sounds like? What months it is typically made in? What sexes make the call? And what the best method of sexing these frogs is? Any help would be appriciated!

Thanks
Kristen

Not sure on how the call sounds. The would breed typically in the wet season, whichever season that is down in the llanos. In captivity, that could be any time after you cool the frog. The females get larger and do not croak. Only the males are vocal. Males should get nupital pads and croack during breeding season. Andy
