exo terra night glo

Shupey Oct 24, 2003 09:59 AM

Hi. This is addition to a post I made a while back about using black, blue lighting. I bought an Exo Terra Night Glo bulb (25 watt) for my leo. I want to use it to slightly increase the overall air temp in the cage by 3 or 4 degrees since the house temps have dropped. I have it over the warm side and am also using a under tank pad. Warm side is around 90 degrees. My question is, I want to leave the night glo light on 24 hours a day to provide a little extra heat. Will this light affect the gecko at night, can they see it. Its kind a purlish blue colour. Thanks

It wont affect the gecko at all with the minimal light that comes out of them.

I have 2 shelving units that "some" of my geckos live in. There are 4 shelves each and all of them are just a bit bigger than a 20 gallon long tank.

For heating I use either red heat bulbs or the purple/blue ones. They give off lots of heat and also give off minimal light. My geckos still come out at night with the bulbs on, and they are left one 24/7.

As for the rest of the geckos I have, well they are all in 16 & 17 quart size shoe boxes.

I have pics of my enclosures on my website if you are interested in seeing them. I believe they are just of the shelving units and thats it.
