Ever want to know for sure how much UVA/ UVB/ UVC your lights are putting out?? Want to know EXACTLY when your UV light starts to fade? Well here is a cool spectrometer for monitoring EXACT UV levels.

only $149, which isnt too much for people who spend $100 on an infrared light gun.

i REALLY REALLY want one. Just as important to have as a heat reading gun IMO

That's cool! I want one! I'll have to add that to my christmas list. My family is going to find out how nuts I really am: "why the heck would you want THAT!?" lol

Ah, but you don't have to spend $100 on an infrared temp gun any more! FYI there is a small hand held one available for about $45 from ProExotics and (I think) Radio Shack. Wanting a UV meter is not as bizarre as my retired chem engineer Dad dreaming about owning an oscilloscope. Not that he has any use for such a thing he just wants one.

Yes! I too have been looking at these for quite some time. Used to be $300 was the cheapest I could find, but now there are some units in the 150 price range. I want someone else to get one first though to see if they really work. I saw a guy with a $300 one at a reptile show and it seemed to work pretty well. I think if you stick with the tried and true reptisuns and powersuns, you can do without it, as their decay rate is pretty well known. But, it sure would be great for testing new products.
