Anyway to prevent the sides of the tank from fogging up?

cod6545 Oct 24, 2003 03:50 PM

Hey- I'm just getting started on building my 30 gallon long tank. My problem right now is the sides of the tank keep fogging up so I can't see in. I have a huge waterfall that might be the problem. Any way to prevent this? Thanks. Brooks

You can stop it with a small fan, and a ac/dc converter. I use a 40mm computer fan, and picked up a converter from walmart. Its a universal converter with the power selection on the front. I then run the fan at about 1/2-1/4 of its normal speed. I also only allow enough air in to just keep the glass unfogged. You have to watch the humidity very close, and I only run my fans with the lights that way at night I'm sure it is 99% hmidity. You can see pictures of one of my fan setups on my site below, and its the imitator tank.

Hope this helps a litte,

You can also use magnetic algae removers. A medium sized one costs about 7-8 bucks.
