New babies found in yard

Parks Ranch Oct 25, 2003 03:05 AM

Just wanted to let everyone know we have two new babies in our turtle family. I didn't see nesting activity in this area of the yard this summer, but last year for sure and last Saturday we found two tiny babies - one still in the nest hold - both were relocated to my hatchling nursery. I have pictures of the new nursery will try to get them uploaded. Mary Beth

Congratulations! There is nothing that can add zest to life like a new birth. Be sure to check really carefully in the yard for others. Lots of times people find a few and then days later discover more. (and watch out for hungry adults too.)

We are in San Diego and getting ready to evacuate if fire got closer and looked out and saw baby #3 this week standing in the middle of our patio surrounded by falling ash. Fire was about a mile away today but wind kept fire away from us - this is the worse fire San Diego has ever experienced.
