mouse size

I have a 16 in red tegu. His head is about 1 1/2 in long. What size mouse (frozen/thawed) should i be giving him? Thanks!

I don't think it would have any trouble with an adult as it will take it apart if it's too big.

I would probably stick to large hoppers or small adult mice.
