Liner material?

Arklier Oct 25, 2003 06:33 PM

I'd like to do a liner underneath my stream to make sure that the water actually reaches the pool. I don't have a pond liner, and the places that sell them either want you to buy them packaged (at least 10' x 10') or sell them in five foot sheets. Obviously far too much for my 29 gallon tank. Instead, I was thinking about cutting the tops off of suitable sized Ziplock bags and slitting them down the sides. The material is fairly thick, and it's made for food, so can't be poisonous. I will not be lining the pool itself, only the path to it. The liner would be under the substrate, with rocks piled on top. Would this work?

You could get a roll of plastic sheeting, i think it is used to block the growth of weeds or something. Thats what i used in my new tank for my tincs and so far it's worked well. I bet you could find it in the landscaping section of lowes or home depot.

Any polyetherline (spelling?) will work, bag,"Storm King" (roll mateial) for windows, etc.. I would use black as not to encourage algae, mold, etc. that light getting through the material would do with clear.
