Sexing question

poisonfrog420 Oct 25, 2003 07:01 PM

I just got a dragon that I was told was about a year old. I am trying to figure out what sex it is, but I am not sure how to do it. I have placed it in my hand and lifted the tail up and did not see any bulges or pores, so thought it was a female. It has kind of an in between head size, not really narrow or wide. Also, the other day it was bobbing it's head hand the bearded started to turn black a bit, not really black, just enough that you could see it. What do you guys think?

Hard to say without seeing it. Females will bob and their beards will get dark when they're annoyed. Just not as frequently or quite as dark as in males. Then again, it could just be an underdeveloped male. If it lays eggs, it's definately a girl. =)

How large is the dragon? A small yearling might still be hard to sex.
