njguy420 Oct 25, 2003 07:11 PM

Ive read alot with uro's ive worked with them quit a bit but no one around here can answer my question with confidence. A pet shop by my house, houses uro's and bearded dragons together. both these are my two favorit rep's and i wanted to know if this is ok. Is there certain breads of uro's that might live better with the beard's or is this a totaly bad idea. i wanted to maybe house a pair or uro's and a male bearded. the 3 will be housed in 100 gallon setup. anyone thoughts or help will be much appreacated
thanx chris

I used to house beardies and mali uros together, but now people say don't do that because of parasites. I housed a pair of mali uros with a pair of sandfire beardies. If you are going to house them together you have to take out the beardie and feed him crix in a container. And put in a lot of veggies in the tank so the uros and beardie can ge some greens. Uros are suppose to eat mainly veggies and only 3 crix every week. The only problems i think you would have are beardies grow a lot faster than uros, and hatchling uros are very territorial. I had to separate mine because they were really starting to attack eachother. Go to the below website for all the info you need on uros.

The other problem I would be concerned about is the distinctly different temperatures needed for the two different species. If it were me, I absolutely wouldn't do it. I don't think species should be mixed in captivity - there's not enough space to go around. But that's just my two cents.
