small wound... help

I just got a juvy cwd. He was fine the first two weeks I had him, now he has a small scab on his back. I'm waiting to get him into the vet, but is it ok to use povidone iodine in the meantime? He is eating and is active.

I never heard of iodine useage but I know that polysporin is ok. My vet told me to use it on a bearded dragon hatchling who was bit by another one under his chin.
