Waste degrader

herpfood Oct 25, 2003 07:53 PM

Hello all, a question for ya ( Oh and thanks )!
Yuck, in a few days with a few baby snappers, a few plants, fish, a snail(lol, I think one of the babies bit off an intenna), etc, a tank can look kinda gross.

So question, does anyone use that turtle waste degrader(or whatever its called). Biodegrading organic waste? I figure it would get rid of dead plant matter, and the unpleasentness of fishm snails and turtles(Aka: Feces)? Is it harmful to the turtles health??? Feedback on the stufff is aprreciated.

THANK-YOU,
herpfood

Yes I use it. I have a 50 gallon aquarium with 1 young snapper, 4 snails, a few plants, and feeder goldfish. I have used the waste degrader for quite a while and havent seen any bad effects yet. I have a whisper filter for around 80 gallons, between that, the snails, and the waste degrader my tank stays clean, clear, and my young snapper keeps growing and stays pretty active.
