Hypo or Okeetee (pic for IcedGodess)

carl3 Oct 25, 2003 08:43 PM

I thought you might enjoy some comparison pics of 2 corns. Not the best photography work but oh well...i don't have much time lately.

One is a hypo het amber
other is an okeetee
BUT both look very similar and are unrelated.

What's interesting is that the okeetee's head patterns have recently started drastically fading?!?!?!?!? Anyone ever see that in normals/okeetees and how does it look as they mature?

I have 3 hypo's and i will be damned if they look any different than normals.

It's really hard to tell. I mean, 3 must be hypo right?
and 1 looks definately Okeetee. 2 looks like a hypo Okee, but you didn't say you had any of those in there, so it must be Okeetee? 4 and 5 I just can't say.

My Okeetee, the dad of my hatchlings, has almost no head black anymore. I actually used to wonder if he was a sort of slight hypo, which is why I question the babies so much. Maybe there's okeetee's that just appear hypo no matter what? The Okee's I see on here and on breeder sites usually have such BLACK black and so much more of it than mine had. Thanks so much for this post! Now spill it which is which?

I could breed these babies together and get light babies and still not know if they were hypo or not....what should I breed them to do find out for sure? Is there any way to really know? Gargoyle said his hypos look like normals....i give up.
I have no idea about the hypo gene I guess, I can't tell a hypo from a normal unless they are side by side and someone tells me which they are

At least I got #1,2,&3 right...lol

That's why I like my hypo...no mistaking it for a normal

Though, one of my anery hatchlings has -brown- checks, not black at all...but he's not a ghost, he was born as black as the rest of them. He's just faded a lot in his 4 months. Beats me.
