Need Help - Two Questions

Rob Jenkins Oct 25, 2003 09:18 PM

First and most important. I took one of my girls out today, Spitfire, and we were playing (really she was jumping from hand to shirt and hand to hand) and I noticed some white crusty stuff on her vent. I'm concerned; it's not like fecal matter so I was hoping it was just from her boyfriend, Kirby, but do they do that? I've never seen that on my leopard geckos, but I remember someone saying about how their boy cresties will let that stuff out on their hand or something.

Second question, somewhat trivial. Has anyone seen my other crestie? I hardly, hardly ever see her. I swear she's got a radar or light sensor and hides everytime I come near the room. I saw her last week once, but she's really reclusive. Does anyone else have this happen?

Thanks for any help.

Could the white stuff be shedding? Thats the only other thing i can thing of basically. Other than fecal matter, or maybe from the male...not sure. And yes, they 'clean' themselves in that spot usually after mating.

I sometimes see my cresteds hiding or sleeping in the open, but usually, they stay tucked into a big leaf or between driftwood.

Generally though, they are nocturnal, so you probably wont be able to see them active during the day that much...I wouldnt start worrying yet unless it isnt eating,
