The earliest I know of was a zoo in Germany in the early 1970's. In 1976, the zoo in Lyons, France produced a litter from a pair of greens that they had raised to adults from just a few months of age. Bill Holmstrom at the New York Zoological Park managed a group of greens that produced several litters over the years starting in 1978. The first private individual that I know of to produce greens was Pete Strimple. He produced his first group of young in 1985. We have second generation captive born young whose father was one of the males born at his facility. The female parent of our young was produced from a captive breeding at a zoo on the east coast. This information is to the best of my knowledge. If anyone has more information please let us know.
