How> can you control a snake getting a respiratory infection??
You want them to get it? Or avoid it? IMHO, the most common cause is keeping an animal far below normal temps for an longer than normal time frame.
>How can you tell if a snake has a respiratory infection?
Wheezing sound, mouth agape, mucus, etc.
>Do the same rules apply to ALL snakes or just pythons or what??? I keep hearing different information from other sources. Please help!!!
No. For instance, it is believed that high humidity and low temps contribute to RI in Ball Pythons (most even), and as a result, humidity should not be increased to combat RI. Do not confuse nebulization with increasing humidity. However, with Chondros it is believed opposite, that low humidity can contribute to RI.
BPs are hardy animals. Keep them in close proximity of their optimal conditions and you should almost never encounter a case of RI.
