My Anole Has Two Tails.

Ball-Pythons.Net Oct 26, 2003 01:27 AM

Yeah, no kidding. My male has two tails. I picked him up during August and thought it was an injury and would fall of. Here we are and it's still there. It's not dead, alive as any other part of him, it sheds and all. About an inch and a half from the end of his tail it forks and just end like an other tail, kinda stubby tho.

Anyone else this, or is it just an abnormalty? Anything to worry about?

No kidding, huh? Well, it could be a genetic mutation. These are very rare out in the wild, and you're lucky enough to find one. Just like snakes or turtles resulting in two heads, two tails are possible.

This is just a shot in the dark, here, but could it be a re-grown tail that went wrong? If he dropped his tail at some point, it might have grown back strangely and ended up that way. The male I had long ago had a kink in his tail, and I assumed that was what it was from, but I really don't know.

Do you have a photo? I'm curious to see it.

K, I don't think it is a part of a falln off tail, I first did. It just kinda forks out, and end kinda stubby. I'll do my best to get pics tonight.
