Hello,
I am new to this forum and am having a problem I sure hope someone can help me with. I ordered a cage from a person that some of you may know. It sold as a plastic welded cage, and was said to be more light weight (which it is) and much sturdier than other types of cages. When the cage arrived after waiting a month, the plastic welds on cage were broken on the front and the back. It came with the doors off, (we were told by the sellers website that they came completly assembled) we were sent a bottle of some kind of glue to glue them on... The hole in the top of the bottle was about as big as pencil tip and glue was extremely thin.... We unwrapped the doors both were scratched, and read the instrutions on how to glue the doors on the cage... Well we had glue everywhere but did manage to get the doors on. We were then to leave the doors and cage to dry for an hour (we let it dry 2 hours) When we were finished we put our lizard substrate in only to discove the welds were broke... We called the manufacturer and he said "just glue em"
they should be okay. When I told him the doors were scratched and we didn't like the hinges being glued both onto the doors and cage he replied that his he was an "expert" and had sold many cages and the hinge glue would hold... The next day the first door came off, then about a week later the second door fell off (damageing my laminate flooring). I called and his answer was "I'll send you more glue, and a better bottle this time and new hinges we could either drill on, or the same plastic hinges we could glue on... He then told us we would have heat the plexi glass doors to get the old hinges off and then reglue the new hinges onto the door and then on the cage... He sent both types of hinges when my husband thought about heating the plexi glass doors he said they will discolor, so we went out and with our own money bought plexi glass, hinges screws, nuts and washers,(he sent no hardware with hinges) and proceeded to drill and fix the doors. I contact L.R.to see if he would stand by his "lifetime warranty" and give a partial refund his answer was no way... He said he is honoring his cage by sending me a $5.00 better glue bottle and more glue... I will be contacting my credit card company on Monday. My question would be does anyone know of anything else I can do to put this person out of business. The cage concept is wonderful and now that we have fixed it all it does not look to bad, but we paid 376.00 dollars for this cage including shipping and don't feel we got our monies worth at all. Please any suggestions would be greatly apprecitated.
