Help me with heat tape. What is it, how do you use it?

I have been hearing aboutpeople using heat tape to heat under their cages, but I cant find anyone who sells it and I dont nkow what it is. It seems like a good thing to use but I cant find out what it is. Please help me out here, jrbl

You can see the below post I responded to that shows how I incorporated heat tape into my rack system. Heat tape is the best!!! You won't waste anymore money on heat mats or Under tank heater or any of that crap. Heat tape is under $4 sq.ft.
