I use both the 38 & 65 gallon reptariums inside the house for bearded dragon enclosures.
To combat the loss of heat, I had very inexpensive pieces of 1/4" plexiglass from Home Depot cut to size, one to fit the small end of the enclosure, another cut to fit the longer side. The pieces of plexiglass are positioned in between the mesh and the frame on one short end & a long side.
In the corner where the 2 pieces of plexiglass meet is where I position my basking lights. The heat is held in perfectly at that end of the reptarium, allowing the other end to be cooler. I use the soft tray liners to catch poo & little bits of salad, etc.
Any substrate works fine: bran, shelf liners, sand, etc.
At cleaning time, the mesh goes into the washing machine, hang to dry.
The liner can be hand cleaned or hosed off.
They assemble in a snap & are great for when you suddenly need to separate dragons or make that unexpected dragon purchase at a show! Larger more permanent tanks would take up much more room just waiting to be used.
I do use glass tanks but also find a place for the reptariums as well.
I use the 100 gallon size outside for summer basking. It keeps the dragons safe from predators but allows all the benefits of being outside.
