Help with brumation... please!

lutebro Oct 26, 2003 09:34 PM

I'm not entirely new to dragons but am very nervous about brumation. I've had my two dragons for about 2 years. They didn't brumate last year but seem to be showing signs of it now. The male went into his cave and won't come out for anything but crickets and the female finally today found a cave in her cave and buried her nose in it. What do i do? They won't eat their greens and seem only halfway interested in crickets. Can someone give me a day by day plan so I don't starve them or not give them enough heat. I want to do this right. Not planning on mating... just want them to be healthy and normal. THanks a ton.

Yesterday I cut back the hours of daylight to 10 hours (Had been about 14 I believe). I did this cause a couple of them are really showing signs of burmating. This will be my first burmation and I'm also kinda nervous about it. Did I do the right thing? Should I continue to lower the hours after a couple weeks? What's the next step?

This is something I know that you hear every time around this season but i'm very concerned about my dragons and want to make sure they're healthy and happy. If you have similar experiences... what did you do your first time? Thanks for any advice. Anything to ease my worrying helps.
