Tegu Pics

kg Oct 26, 2003 11:31 PM

I took some pics of my angry little tegu today. She has some weird scar/old shed things all over her body. I'm thinking bite scars from her old roommates.

Well here's Tindra's beautiful big nose. She doesn't look too intimidating from this view.

There's a big discolored spot on her throat. It's a blurry picture because she wasn't cooperating with me. I circled it though. Hurrah for Kylie's wonderful circling skills!

She's around 5-5 1/2 inches SVL. Can anyone estimate her age???

Very reddish color for a black and white tegu.

Glaring at me. She not happy when subjected to Kylie's horrendous photography skills.

Anyways. Tell me what you guys think. Cute? Demonish? A little bit of both?

But you are plastic and so are your brains.

The primate's scream of consonance is a reflection
of his own mind's dissonance.

Sadistic and constantly inflicting a slow demise.

Very cute! How long head to tail? It looks very young, I would say definitley less than 6 months old. Looks like a red! If he's a little demon then handle him as much as possible while he's that little. I got a blue at 18" head to tail, and it's taking some work calming him down. I wish I had him as small as yours. Just be patient and handle gradually more and more every day.

I'm no expert, but have researched a great deal before acquiring our Arg. Red and Colombian Blue Tegus, and yours looks nothing like any Black and White I've ever seen, but looks every bit like a Red.

Where did you get him/her? Are you confident of the origin or are you relying on some pet store classification?

Just my opinion. Any one else????

I purchased her from LLLReptile at the San Diego herp show a week back. Are you sure she won't just lose that color as she matures? I payed $69 for her and they had a tegu labeled as a red for $119...so possibly a mix-up? I've never seen a juvenile black and white tegu, only adults, and so I thought the color was typical for her age.

Well LLL Reptiles is one of the best. If they said it was a B&W you can be confident.

Aplogies.....
