what is this?
It's salt actually. If your water has a sodium content like mine does because I have a water filter in my house then the excess salt like to go out the nose and form those little crystals. It's nothing to worry about and doesn't seem to bother them (they'll rub it off eventually on a log or something). As long as it looks like crystals and isn't runny or bubbly then you're fine.
