Weird behavior can anyone help?

addam4208283 Oct 27, 2003 06:51 AM

I noticed today when I was in the middle of my frogs morning feed that one of my azureus was shedding a skin; do they do this? Also after I sprayed the whole tank down I noticed that he started to open mouth gasp or gag. What is this?

thanks in advance.

It is normal behavior. They shed regularly, when healthy and eat their shed. This also prevents skin infections. They seem to do this early in the morning.

The first time is saw this behavior i was freaked too. That gagging you say was the frog eating the skin which it shed, wouldn't want to loose any nutrients.
