but i need some advice about pellets. i have really been trying to get my guys on pellets but they just are not interested in them! No matter what i do they don't see them as food, when i feed them and i drop a pellet into the feeding container if it doesn't start jumping around they don't see it as food! i am getting very frustrated with this, if anyone has had similar problems please help me out!!!

Just keep at it some take longer then others, some like only certin colors, etc. Take the pellets and drop them in so they move around if that doesnot work try shaking the pellet in front of their mouth this works for one of my picky males. You just have to find the combo that works for your dragon i have two that took at least a month to get on pellets and now they will oly eat them out of my hand while moving them around like a cricket by the leg. Hope this helps and keep at it. Scott

I've heard that if you soak the pellets in juice, like applejuice for instance, it will smell good and entice them to want to eat them more. Are they getting veggies? try mixing a little bit of pellets in with them. Those are the only suggestions i have. good luck!!

When I tried feeding them to Merlin, he would take one now and then from moving in my hand, but he had to be really hungry.

Once, I dropped a pellet into a hole in his branch and didn't want to leave it there so I used a paperclip to get it out. He jump on it and ate the moving pellet right up.

So far that is the only way he will eat them but I'm more hopeful he will eat them from the bowl because he is eating more and more each time.

I was picturing a thin strand from an electrical wire getting stuck in his tongue! Paperclip is pretty big and blunt, though, and as long as he doesn't miss I wouldn't think it would cause any problems. Just my thoughts, though.

Thanks Rob. I wouldn't hurt this baby for anything. I even blunted the end more, pull it back if the wire pokes through and hold it sideways most of the time.

I did finally get him to eat from the bowl by moving one pellet on the wire. He grabbed the pellet then continued with the others for a while. Then I would have to do it again. Sometimes moving the pellets around with the wire worked.

Good luck with getting him to eat them on his own. I'm sure persistence will probably pay off eventually!
