New to Rats - here's my first one . . .

. . . and NO, it isn't my 10 year old Son!!! LOL. I just recently purchased a pair of adult Russian Rat Snakes from John Meltzer of RJ Reptiles.

We've bred geckos for awhile - but thought we'd like to try a colubrid. We have a few corns, and a black pine - but fell in love with these Russians.

I'm looking forward to the whole deal of brumating, breeding, incubating, etc. It's a new experience.

I hope to be around this forum more often and learn from your posts.

Thanks for looking.

John is a good source for excellent snakes. I got some western fox snakes from him (picture attached).

I was just at his house today and in his herp room. I was looking at some of his locality Foxy's (I think they were locality - because I believe he had a county label on the box).

Yep, he's a great guy - terrific herper and a good friend. I look forward to working with the Ruskies!!
