Where to buy crickets?

shek May 29, 2003 03:27 PM

I've been ordering my crickets from reptilefood.com.
I haven't had too much an issue with them except their cutoff times are pretty lame.. If I order right now. 4pm EST, I can't get my order until next monday.. sad sad sad... I realize if I were to order earlier in the day this would not be the case throught the week.. but if I could find something more in tune with my schedual it would be great.
Anyone know a decent place to get crickets with a bit more reasonable shipping time?

www.groomscricketfarm.com is real prompt.
You might want to do a search to find out who is closest to you.

I have been buying my crickets, superworms and wax worms through reptilefood.com for well over a year and a half now. I went through MANY companies before I found one I didnt have major problems with. Yes, I sometimes miss that cutoff as well! It can be a pain sometimes. But reptilefood.com has been great over all.

However, I have had problems with airborne though! Gosh I can't stand that shipping company. I am going with fedex from now on. For over 2 years I have had problems with airborne. UGH!

Just thought I would share too Take care, Lindsay

I have used Port Credit Pet Centre and had them ship my crickets to work, only way I can guarentee to be there when they arrive. I do not know off hand if they ship outside of Canada. I also use silkworms.ca as well (for silkworms though). They shipped fairly quickly, but because I needed to send them a money order for the first order with them and it was a long weekend coming up...it was about a week before I actually received the silkworms. Silkworms came in all alive with half dozen more than what I ordered.

The crickets I ordered from Port Credit PC arrived alive, only problem was I ordered the wrong size (too small)...so now I have to 'grow' them bigger. Not that my beardie minds eating silkworms in the meantime.
