I found a baby T. sirtalis that looks like it's been attacked. It has an infection (swollen area / definately not a meal) mid body with what appears to be multiple puncture wounds through this area. Are there any topical antiseptics that you could recommend? The snake is pretty lethargic and it's head lists to the side so I'm not too optimistic about its chances, but I figure that it doesn't have anything to lose so I'll see what I can do for it. Any help pertaining to wound care would be appreciated.

Neosporin works. Some people recommend others. If you really want to, I would get it to a vet for some baytril or other antibiotics. If it gets too much worse though, I doubt it will make it and you should find someway to humanely send it to "a better place." As for the set up, plain papertowels, small water bowl, fairly high temps (high 80's or so). Keep it in a dark, quiet place. That is pretty much all you can do. Keep stress to a minimum. Andy

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately the snake didn't make it through the night. I cleaned him up and applied the neosporin and had him set up like you recommended, but I think that he was already too far gone to save when I found him.
