RETF and bromeliad spine?

bsank Oct 27, 2003 07:08 PM

I have an Aechmea fasciata bromeliad that I am considering putting into a new retf vivarium. Just wondering if anyone else has ever used this species of bromeliad in their tanks. It does have small spines running along the leaves which is the main reason why I'm posting this. I have searched the rest of the forum for a discussion with this theme to little avail. Thank you for any response.

Don't use any spiny species of bromeliad. They are REALLY sharp and would cause much more injury to a frog than your finger. When the frog hunts or otherwise jumps, it's really probable that something will happen.
