finished tank

mbmcewen Oct 27, 2003 09:22 PM

Okay guys...got some more plants and turned on all the lights and buzzers. I have to say I am proud of this one if I may be so bold. Now, I just have to let the plants fill in. What do you think?

okay...this is a close up of the creek...the water level is low right now so it is not much to look at.

You had better get those air plants higher in the tank and probably that orchid too since they can get too wet for too long in between dry outs, in there current location inside the fog "zone". what are those vines you go climbing on the back wall? I suggest you trim them and keep them just on the back wall. Also good looking tank and the brom s are really nice as focal points. Keep up the good work, tank looks good, just remeber to meet the plants requirements.

wow, looks like a whole new tank! i like the brom on the background, a N. fireball? Give it a few weeks and itll get it roots planted and start to "stand up" instead of dangling there. At first i thought a made a mistake by mounting mine on the back ground then it rooted in and it looks great!

Hey,

Great design. I was wondering how you created the water feature.

Thanks,

Ian

the piece of driftood I used has a huge crack in it, as you can see in the picture. I drilled through the wood from the rear...into the crack. Then fed my water hose into the crack but not far enough in to see it. The way it flows out over and drips down is just the natural course of the water over the wood. If I had to do it over again....i would put a black plastic liner under the rocks to create some sort of catch pool....I may still be able to do it.

Thanks
