hideout question

I'm getting my new boaphile 321d so i have more space to work with. I use ceramic planters for hideouts right now, but i can never find the right size(plus my guy likes to use his hideout like a bathroom. Odor problem). I was thinking about using sticks and the like to form a hideout. Should i do this or should i just find some kind of plastic hideout for him? I am at a loss and i want for him to be comfortable.

i make mine out of tile and silicon calking it works pretty good

How do you make it sturdy? or do you something under the tile or is it tile to tile connections?
