Enclosures

Hi to all I am new to this forum. I will be purchasing a couple of gray bands soon. I am not sure what size they will be, it just depends on the situation. I have read as many caresheets as I can find. Enclosure size never seems to be nailed down in the care sheets. I will be acquiring a 4 ft. cage for my Red Tail Boa soon, I would like to buy another 4 ft cage and divide it evenly and stack with the boa cage, so my question is a 2 ft x 2ft x 12 in. cage an appropriate size cage for the life of a gray band? I'm not opposed to different sizes, this would just fit nicely with my other cage. Thanks in advace for your answers.
Tim

The general rule of thumb is a snake should be able to crawl around the periphery of the cage and its body take up half of the diameter. Following this rule, a 12 x 12 cage should be able to house up to a 24 inch snake. Graybands can get a little bigger than that as adults, so I would go with a slightly larger enclosure. Jeff Robbe

Sorry, i just reread your post, 2ft by 2 ft should be plenty of space for a grayband. Jeff Robbe
