Snakes in ecstasy!

wynter Oct 28, 2003 08:51 AM

Got your attention huh? Actually, I would like to know who rears snakes in KL?
I would like to start, but don't know which to choose from... People in US swears by Corns and Kings. But are there other choices? More Malaysian/Asian perhaps? What's your snake?

hi which part of malaysia r u from? u breed snakes?
if u're just starting out u might wana breed local snakes first...maybe gony's and prasina's and ornatas and some pythons. When u make it big dude...add imported snakes to your collection

Heya Chivas! Thanks again for your reply in the Rear-fang forum! I just confirmed orders for a 2.5ft long x 2.5ft tall, multiple-opening plexiglass enclosure for snakes and 2 Prasinas to go with it! My dealer friend also had a 1.5ft long, sand-speckled Fasiolata (?) at his shop, and it made me drool.

No I'm not a breeder nor exporter. As you can tell from my questions, I'm still a beginner. My wife and I are just suddenly bitten DEEP by the enchantment of snakes. She doesn't appreciate the subtle beauty of Ahaetullas and insists on a snake her own. That's why my research. So far, the choices according to her pref are: West Hognose, Dione, Baird, California Kingsnake, Indo-Chinese Ratsnake (Ptyas Korros).

One thing at least, I'll won't be getting many visit from my mom and mom-in-law in the future! LOL!

hey where did u get your snake cage?!!! and plexiglass too..geez..i've been looking all over. i thought they don't sell snake cages here in m'sia. I've been checkin out cages from 'cages by design' and was drooling all over it sigh.. I had to custom make a glass aquarium for my prasina nothing compared to the heavenly enclosure u just purchased though. 2ft long 1 ft wide 1.5ft high. not arboreal enough i know..but it'll have to do for now.

how much is your frens fasciolata going for?? they're gorgeous snakes u know...not too easy to come by too i think (hehe...i'm no snake expert myself..learning day by day.)
u're into prasinas too? they're lovely snakes aren't they? very tame and easy to care easy to feed..what else can we ask for??

we should meet up sometime...are there any means by which i could contact u? do you use msn messenger or yahoo m'ger or something?

This guy I'm getting from is like one of the major suppliers in KL see? So he has his contacts custom make reptile displays. I don't have the cage / Prasinas with me yet coz he'll have the 'cage' made first. I saw the display units at his shop and thought they were quite good. The corners are reinforced with aluminium and the top is wire meshed. Some holes drilled at the sides for vent too.

If you're into snakes, then you'd want to meet him. He's VERY quick in his deliveries. When you come to KL, I'll take you to his shop no probs.

No. I don't use Messenger nor others like it. Sorry. I'll stick to email.
