Looking for a Certain Frog... Need Help locating them...

EtBGeckos Oct 28, 2003 09:22 AM

I have been surfing through pictures, and have found Mossy Frogs: Theloderma corticale. I haven't found a single caresheet for them, only one site, www.globalherps.com that sells them. Are they endangered?
If anyone keeps these or knows anything about them, please contact me, i'm extremely intrigued by them, and want to maybe keep one. Let me know! Thanks

This species is endemic to Vietnam and is currently not being imported. I believe it is Index II Cites listed. The only way you might be able to get one is through Europe. Might be too much of a hastle.

Oh ok, do you have any idea how i might go about doing that? When i searched for them and Cites popped up in almost all the links, i figured my luck was doomed, still thought i'd give it a shot tho, Thanks

I don't know anyone working with that specific species anywhere right now. My European friends say that they haven't seen that species in quite some time. Best bet is to keep on searching... try ordering hobbyist magazines from Germany. Sometimes they have classified ads for all sorts of weird animals. Only problem is it's in German. If only I could remember the name of the magazine..... keep searching and let me know if you have any luck. They are an interesting looking species.
