burminating dragon.....HELP....

zz1 Oct 28, 2003 11:07 AM

I have had zz about 18 months. He didn't burminate last year but is this year.

He has been sleeping about 1 month. Everything I have read about it said it could last from a week or two to a few months. (is there anything I can do?)

I know his biological clock is his clock...but am I doing anything wrong to prolong his coming out. I havent' changed his environment. I did give him a warm bath (which he woke up for, but went promptly back to sleep...in a different spot.) He did wake up once and pooped but then right back at it.

Any thoughts.

The best thing to do is let them guide you. They know what they need, and how long they need to brumate.
The first time is pretty nerve wracking..

Just do like you are doing, if your beardie wakes, feed, bathe and if he chooses to go back to sleep, let him.

If your beardie is in a hide log or out of the lights, you could shut your UVB off. No sence wasting it since they do decrease in UVB production.
