Female beardies??????

ISH May 29, 2003 04:55 PM

I have two female beardies which are sisters and have spent individual "fun" time with a male dragon. One has already laid eggs which are now in the incubator. I believe the other female is ready to lay too. However, she is acting weird towards me and the area where the other female laid her eggs. This is the only place that I have set aside for egg laying. Are bearded dragons territorial about where they lay their eggs? Will the one not lay her eggs in the same spot because of the scent of the previous or is this not an issue? I was just curious if I needed to provide a different laying area for my second female?

Sincerely,
ISH

I am not sure whether or not they are territorial but I would suggest changing the laying medium between clutches. I use the same laying container for all my females, but I thoroughly clean the bin and replace the soil after each clutch. I have never had a problem with this method. They dont even seem to know the other had been in their. Try it, see if it makes a difference. Goodluck! Let us know, Lindsay
