Need everyone's opinions.

Hello everyone,
I need your opinions. baby bearded dragons under 4 months old, all about 4-5 inches long- is it ok to keep a dish of mealworms in with them ALL the time? not just the freshly molted ones, just normal mealworms. Crickets are the main staple as well as veggies. But just keeping mealies in there and not regulating how many of them they eat, in a dish, 24/7, and constantly keeping it full. Can everyone please post why or why not this should be done? Thanks.

First, I'd say that's way too small for the age but that's not what you were asking. I think mealies are fatty and will end up being the only thing the dragons eat. I don't think they are nutritious enough either. I think mealies are only for treats or to fatten up a skinny dragon.

not only that but also contain a high amount of exoskelton and at that size it would not be wise to feed mealies.

I would stay away from Meal Worms for Dragons that small. Mealies have a pretty hard 'shell' and that may make it hard for a small Beardy to eat...

I agree, no mealworms at this size. Why are they so small? 4-5" from snout to end of tail?
