I'm sure a starving cricket will have a bite off the tree, but i'm guessing its not them. Ficus trees can harbor small little insects (the name escapes me) that live under the bark of the tree. a few of these are normal and nothing to worry about. The little mising spots can be where they are eating. These little bugs are not any danger to your chameleon, but watch your tree carefully. If you start to notice a large amount of missing bark, the the tree starts to drop leaves, move your cham to another plant, and give that Ficus a good going over. Spray it with some organic bug spray, trim the branches, and, if you can, re-pot the tree in another pot with new dirt. Sometimes the bugs can come from the dirt, so using the same dirt will just bring them back.
Hope this helps
