should I cool a red blood that I don't plan on breeding?

DenverTom Oct 28, 2003 08:11 PM

If so, what temps should I take him down to? I was planning on taking him down to 70 degrees. What do you think?

thanks
Denver Tom

Do not cool bloods to temps below 75F or you will be making frequent visits to the vet. If you are not breeding, why cool?
It is not necessary for longevity, IMO. In fact, the other way around may be the case for longevity.

Hey,
I agree with Rich, there is no need to cool unless you are planning on breeding your charges. That can spell disaster to a healthy animal predisposing him or her to RI. So the answer to that is NO!
