My friend's roommie just got a baby RES and it has this weird white thing in the corner of his eye! It's not clouding up the eye, it's just this weird bubble-like thing in the corner. does anyone know how I can get rid of it?

I don't know what it is, but it doesn't sound like something to mess around with.
Take him to a qualified reptile vet as soon as possible.
Anything that has to do with the eyes could potentially be serious. Don't take a chance, turn him over to a professional.
