My first Pacman

Jester313 Oct 28, 2003 09:36 PM

I just wanted to post that I got my first ever Pacman frog yesterday. I named him Marcellus, and tonight he had his first meal of calcium dusted crickets. I'll try and get pictures this weekend. He's really awesome.

Congrats. They are great frogs. Good luck with him. Andy

I know these guys just chill out. But do they ever move? Mine has been sitting in the same place for about two days. I've never seen him move, and I know he hasn't hit the water while I'm gone because it's still sparkling clean!

Just wondering if I should worry.

relax and give him time dont rush him he has to come adjusted to his new home Ive had mine for over a month and he is just now relaxing

Agreed. Sometimes they will move around, but let him have time to get used to his settings. My larger frogs (ceratophrys and pyxicephalus) do move rather frequently now. I actually prefer a half land/half water tank nowadays and I have found they frogs utilize all of the room I give them. Andy

My horned frog will stay in the same place for days, even weeks. Then one day he'll emerge from burial, take a soak in the water dish, and sit waiting to be fed.
Don't worry, your frog is acting normal and well adjusted. If it were hopping frantically and trying to escape, I would worry. Just make sure you change the water daily, even if he does not use it; fruit flies can breed in it if not!

After his second cricket feast, lil' Marcellus went searching for his water bowl! Needless to say he found it, and has been chilling out there for awhile.
