I need heating advice!!!!

LeoMan Oct 28, 2003 09:45 PM

OK! I have recently moves my crestie into my office within the past week. He has been really faded during the day which I believe is stress b/c it is getting too cold at night. What type of bulbs do you people use to heat your aquairiums? I would only have to raise the temp. about 10-15 degrees. What should I use?
Thanks! CORY

A 25 watt red "party" bulb, available at the grocery does well for a 10 gallon aquarium. But you give no cage size/geometry.

Plus it is subjective wrt what the low ambient is at night. Suggest you get one of those hi/lo thermometers and find out the temp range you are dealing with. Then put it in the cage with a bulb and see what it reads on another day/night cycle. Then adjust wattage to suit.

It would be better to take the gek home, run your tests and then bring it back in when you have things where you want them.
