I am curious,how do I sex my garters? I have two red sided and they are about a year and four months old, so I'm guessing you can tell by now,duh. Thanks for any help.

Most snakes can be popped without problems, and that is a sure way when you know how to do it, but there are other ways:
Use a small sonde to examine how deep you can press it towards the tail without using force, or better still just look at our animals. After a year the females are bigger, better eating, fatter and when you look at the tail from the side it decreases in size shortly after the opening. Males has longer tails and they don`t decrease in size the same way as females. In doubt ask someone near to you that knows how it is done. Thamnophis are very easy to sex, and if you have both sex you can see it directly.
