I am doing a persuasive speach on why Herpetology is a good hobby. If anyone knows any good links to info on what people are trying to do in regards to stopping us keeping reptiles would be appreciated.

I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for. Do you want proposed legislation or are you looking for groups speaking out against reptile ownership?

Either way a good place to look is the Herp Law/CITES forum on this website. There's all kinds of information there. Also the Herp News forum has a debate going on the good and bad of pet ownership.

There have been laws recently proposed in FL that may be of interest if you are looking for actual laws, but if you want arguements against herp ownership you can use the link below to the Human Society of the United States. The have joined with PETA as the two driving forces behind an exotic animal ban. You will find a lot of material on their website regarding the laws they want to see proposed.

Good! I am glad I could help. The whole issue is turning into kind of a thing for me. I think I may join our local herp society so I can speak regarding these issues too. Break a leg...not really of course, but good luck with your speech.
